Issue the ledger to transform every word into the Roman numeral for its actual character count while retaining a small source label. The result is deterministic, reversible and dramatically less useful to read.

Possible use

It could let a reviewer issue a ceremonial size report for a handoff sentence, or let a presenter turn an agenda line into an antique-looking inventory of word lengths. Both uses discard meaning to display an arbitrary measurement.

Reasonable alternative

A reasonable local alternative is keeping the label readable and calculating `word.length` locally when a metric is genuinely needed. A Roman ledger should not replace content with its measurement.
